I came across an Instagram post from a fashion and trends content profile.
The post was about the combination of two colors of the year: Blue and Brown.
I don't know if you know, but brown is the color of 2025, a slightly warm, sophisticated and welcoming brown called MOCHA MOUSSE. I loved Pantone's choice.
I'm biased because I love brown.
I'll get back to the topic of today's post.
In the comments, a comment from a follower really caught my attention. And as an image consultant, I have an obligation to discuss this and educate my audience.
A follower asked about the looks used to exemplify the combination of light blue and brown.
The looks were more or less like the ones I show you below!

I can't find the most similar looks because my Pinterest has a more classic profile. But they are more or less like these.

The point that caught my attention was: The follower questioned that the outfit ideas that resemble the looks above were not useful because they did not look like normal looks.
And if a person wore these looks in a small town, they would be dressing inappropriately.
Her statement is that of a person who does not understand that fashion is an expression of identity. And she is not wrong. I am not criticizing her.
The looks above are looks that express the identity of the woman who is wearing them, or she is simply wearing them because she wants to connect with a trend.
You can dress in a way that expresses your identity and connects with your personality. Be it classic, youthful, modern, wild, sensual...
I really connect with the aesthetics of these looks below!

These are more classic and elegant aesthetics. They can also be casual and youthful.
Just combine classic and more serious pieces with casual pieces.

You just need to remember that dressing well means dressing according to the dress code appropriate to the environment and occasion.
Let's do an exercise: the classic looks above are super suitable for executive women, lawyers, architects...
The super casual and relaxed outfits, it is full of expression of identity. Other aesthetic also convey identity. It depend on the styling you chose.
The modern, relaxed, generation Z outfits are perfect for those who work with art, actresses, singers, dancers... People who work with art are super connected to creativity and they demonstrate this in the way they dress too.
I believe that a modern and bold look like this would not look good on a lawyer, for example.
To conclude, I would like to say that people need to feel comfortable with the way they dress, regardless of other people's opinions.
BE CAREFUL! It is necessary to respect the dress code and adapt your way of expressing your style according to each occasion.
This way you will feel included without losing your identity.
What do you think?
Should we or shouldn't we have the freedom to dress and thus express who we really are?
